To conduct peaceful voting in Gurgaon assembly elections, all 1507 polling stations of the district will be webcasted by installing CCTV cameras.
For this, a district level control room will be set up in the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat complex.
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer of Gurgaon, Nishant Kumar Yadav said that on October 5, voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm at 1507 polling stations in Badshahpur, Sohna, Gurgaon and Pataudi assembly constituencies of the district.
For this purpose, CCTV cameras will be installed at the polling stations, which will be webcasted.
Yadav said that there are 257 critical booths in the district, where two cameras will be installed to record the inside and outside activities. If any person tries to disrupt the voting system, it will be recorded in CCTV and strict action will be taken immediately.
“Three more booths have been added in Badshahpur assembly constituency with the permission of the Election Commission.
Now there are 521 booths here. Apart from this, there are 435 booths in Gurgaon assembly, 292 in Sohna and 259 in Pataudi. Election officers of all four assembly constituencies can also view any booth through webcasting in their control rooms,” Yadav said.
Apart from this, to ensure peaceful voting here in Gurgaon district the Gurgaon police have placed full security arrangements which includes the deployment of security personnel as 257 polling premises marked critical.
Police said they have deployed 4,800 police personnel and home guards and half a section of central paramilitary forces in addition to the 10 companies of paramilitary forces, home guards, special police officers (SPOs) and 6,000 personnel of the Gurugram.
“Salutes in plain clothes have been deployed to keep a close tab on illegal activity during the elections, which includes tracking illegal cash transactions, distribution of liquor, or any other items suspected of the voters,” police said.
Over 14 lakh people are eligible to exercise their franchise in the upcoming elections of the Gurgaon district’s four assembly constituencies, where polling will be held on October 5.
