In a move that will pit the ruling MahaYuti against the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Mumbai police has summoned BJP MLA and Union Minister Narayan Rane’s son Nitesh Rane for questioning on the mysterious death of celebrity talent manager Disha Salian nearly hours ago.
Disha (28), it may be recalled, had reportedly committed by falling from the 14th floor of Galaxy Regent building at Malad in north Mumbai on the intervening night of June 8-9, 2020. She had allegedly ended her life five days before actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide at his rented duplex flat in Bandra in north-west Mumbai on June 14, 2020.
Rane and BJP leaders have long been linking Sushant Rajput’s alleged death with that of Disha’s death. Their allegation is that Disha was allegedly raped and murdered. They had turned the needle of suspicion towards Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray.
After the then Opposition BJP had made an indirect allegation against him.
Aditya had on December 23, 202w2, hit back at the Shinde government for trying to corner him in the Disha Salian murder. “I am not scared of any inquiry. Let them do what they want. I am a tiger. There is blot on me. There are stripes of a tiger on me,” he had said.
Explaining as to where he was on the day of the death of Salian, Aditya said: "My (maternal) grandfather died on the day of Disha’s death . All I can say is that the state government is scared of a 32-year-old youth. The state government is trying to divert the attention of the people from the issue of Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) land allotment. I demand the resignation of chief minister Shinde. I am ashamed that these people were once with us."
It may be recalled that on August 25,. 2021 then Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Narayan Rane on Wednesday upped the ante against the ruling Shiv Sena by reviving the controversial “suicides” by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-manager Disha Salian and Tik-Tok star Pooja Chavan.
Rane – without taking any names – demanded to know as to who were responsible for the deaths of Disha Salian and Pooja Chavan. “How did Disha Salian die? Who was present at the crime scene? Why have the police not established the cause of her death?. What about the death of Pooja Chavan? I am not going to sit quietly, till the ministers responsible for the two deaths are arrested. If need be I will move the court. Let me see who will protect these ministers?” Sr Rane asked.
Sr Rane’s son Nitesh Rane raised suspicions about Disha’s death, through three tweets. “Disha was apparently taken 2 her Malad home in a black Merc on the 8th night from the party..Sachin Waze also owned a black Merc which is with the investigation agencies now.. Is it the same car? he was reinstated in the police department on the 9th of June.. Connection?,” Nitesh tweeted.
