CBSE Board results: Over 93 per cent pass in Class X, 87.98 per cent in Class XII

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday declared the results for Classes 10 and 12 on Monday. The pass percentage in Class 10 was 93.60 and the pass percentage in the Class 12 exams increased marginally and stood at 87.98 per cent. The percentage of passing for both classes has increased marginally from last year. The top-scored subject was Mathematics in Class 10 and Painting in Class 12. The results of both the classes were declared on the official website of CBSE.

In the declared results for Classes 10 and 12, the girls have outshone the boys, as 94.75 per cent girls have cleared the 10th exams and more than 91 per cent girls pass exams in the 12th class. The CBSE announced that there would be no merit list to "avoid unhealthy competition" and the rise in pass percentage is due to an increase in the number of competency-based questions in the exams this year.

For Class 12, more than 16.21 lakh students appeared in the examination, 1.16 lakh students scored above 90 per cent and 24,068 students scored above 95 per cent. The Government-aided and government schools have achieved a pass percentage of 91.42 and 88.23 respectively, leaving behind the Private schools with a pass percentage of 87.70.

The passing percentage for Class 10 has been 93.60 which was a rise of 0.48 percentage points from last year. More than 2.12 lakh students in Class 10, passed with above 90 per cent, and 47,000 students have scored above 95 per cent marks. Although more than 1.32 lakh students have been placed in 'compartment', but the number has decreased from last year.

Class 10 saw the highest number of full marks scorers in the subject of Mathematics, with 11,253 students followed by subjects of Sanskrit with 6,700 and Artificial Intelligence with 6,269 top scorers. While the maximum number of full marks scorers in Class 12 were in the subject of Painting with 10,402 followed by Chemistry at 2,152 and Psychology at 2,134 students.

To praise and increase the confidence of the students, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, congratulated them by referring to them as “exam warriors”. He tweeted on ‘X’ saying, “Dear #ExamWarriors, Congratulations to all of you who have successfully passed the CBSE Class XII exams! I am immensely proud of your accomplishment and your relentless dedication. I also acknowledge the efforts of your supportive families and dedicated educators, whose unwavering support has been crucial to this success.”

The Prime Minister further tweeted for the students who were not able to score as much marks as they wanted, by saying “this is just one milestone in your journey.”Heartily congratulate my young friends who have successfully cleared the #CBSE Class X and Class XII examinations. While you cherish the success and enjoy the fruits of your labour, do also utilise this time to make an effective plan for higher studies.” said Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, Government of India.

Many other leaders like Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar also congratulated the students for passing with flying colors.
