Woman Maoist, two others surrender

Three Maoists including a woman carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakhs on her head surrendered to security forces in Sukma district in Chhattisgarh, police said on Sunday.

Kamli alias Kamla, Deva and Sannu turned themselves in on Saturday, citing disappointment with the Maoist ideology, Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan said.

Kamli was a Battalion member while Deva was a former Battalion Company member, Sannu was a Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangh member of the outlawed Maoist organization.

They were involved in several Naxalite incidents in Sukma and Bijapur districts.
