It may sound strange that the engineers of different departments as well as those of IIT- ISM have failes  to resolve the perennial  waterlogging on four lane road near Ranibandh in Dhaiya locality.

Since last several days  commuters continue to walk  through knee deep water  due to the waterlogging that according to locals  has been caused not only due  consecutive rains  but discharge of water from ISM campus.

 The attempt of  Dhanbad Municipal Corporation (DMC) officials  to pump out the water has failed on every occasion and department waits rains to stop.

This has also causes flooding  in   houses of low lying areas of Mallick Basti ,Lahbani Basti and other nearby localities 

 The road has no drainage facility and those once existed  either blocked or have been damaged  and  it appears that the road it self has  become a drain.  The problem has aggravated also because the road construction division has blocked one side of the road to raise the level of the road so that water flows to the low lying areas besides becoming problems for two wheelers auto  and small car  drivers.

 Meanwhile,   in view of the problem deputy commissioner  Varun Ranjan  has constituted a committee headed by the town commissioner along with executive engineer of the road construction division, traffic Dy SP and circle officer  with a directive  to workout for a permanent  solution to this perennial problem . He told media persons that there are several issues related to this age old problem. We can’t drain water directly to the pond or stop water flow from the IIT(ISM) campus. Attempts  to link the road drain to the drain near CIMFR too has  problem due to natural slops. We are working on the technical feasibility of the solutions for a permanent solution, he added.
