The newly-launched Hazrat Nizamuddin-Rani Kamalapati Vande Bharat Express rammed into a cow near Gwalior station in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday evening. The accident resulted in damage to the train's front portion.
The Hazrat Nizamuddin-Rani Kamalapati Vande Bharat train hit the cow around 6.15 pm when the animal suddenly came on the tracks going towards Dabra in Gwalior.
The Bhopal-bound Vande Bharat Express (No 20172) hit the cow around 6.15 pm and stopped at the spot for about 15 minutes, a senior railway official added. The train resumed its journey after the necessary repair of the damaged portion.
The semi high-speed train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 1.
