Two men died and another person was injured after a tiger attacked them on Monday in a forest in Surajpur district in Chhattisgarh.
The incident occurred near Kalamanjan village in the Odgi block when the victims went to collect firewood in the forest, Surajpur Collector Effat Ara said. The deceased were identified as Kailash Singh and Samay Lal and the injured was Rai Singh.
Locals have been advised not to venture into the forest, the Collector said.
The Odgi Block Education Officer has ordered schools to close as a precaution.
