The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) has asked the Education department in Nainital district to present a report regarding a Madarsa which had allegedly been operated illegally for about 13 years in the Veerbhatti area of the district. An official of the SCPCR informed that a recent case involving the Madarsa in Nainital district had been brought to the commission's attention. It has been reported that this Madarsa is not registered with the Madarsa board and also failed to maintain proper sanitisation standards for the students’ well-being. Consequently, the commission has instructed the Education department in the Nainital district and the Madarsa board to investigate the matter and submit the report to the commission promptly, he said.
The official further stated that the Education department has experienced unavoidable difficulties and delays in the investigation, which has resulted in a delay in submitting the report to the commission. Considering this, the commission has once again asked the department to expedite the process and submit the report promptly.
He further stated that the commission has received numerous complaints regarding the Madarsas in the State. In response to this, the commission has initiated inspections at the Madarsas to ensure the safety of the children, he added.
