The central government has sanctioned Rs 350 crore for improvement in the electricity supply in Hazaribag Parliament areas. This will be spent in the next three years at the rate of Rs 150 crore per year. This amount will be used for replacing the old wires, new transformers, and construction of substations, said senior BJP leader, former Union Minister and Hazaribag Member of Parliament Jayant Sinha after the marathon meeting with the electricity department General Manager along with all officers of the department on Monday.

Sinha said that the Central government has determined to smooth and regular supply of electricity to the public. In this context the Central government has sanctioned Rs 450 crores for regular and smooth supply of electricity to the people of Hazaribag parliament areas.

He further said that this amount will be spent as per the direction of the Central government which means 150 crores per year. He said that every house in the town will be furnished with smart meters. The department points out the 250 places in the urban area with the consultation of ward councillors for installation of the new transformer in the town.

The department will also survey the rural areas and to be changed out of order feeders in the different areas. The agriculture feeder will be separated from the general feeders. This step will be helpful in the irrigation in the village areas.

The open wire will be changed in the covered wire. He has suggested to the department to purchase the covered wire as early as possible, so that the work can be started earlier.

He has directed that every three months, a meeting will be held to take stock of the progress of this plan. He further said that due to the JMM and congress government in the state, the general people are facing the crisis in the state.
