Tuesday, 25 April 2023 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

The state government will hand over the airstrip of Rewa airport and Datia to the Airport Authority of India (AAI). Rewa's airport will be given on lease for 99 years. This proposal will be presented to the cabinet for a final decision.

After this, there will be a contract between AAI and the state aviation department. Similarly, it is proposed to hand over the airstrip of Datia to AAI. Its proposal will also be brought in the cabinet. Datia airstrip will be given to AAI only for operations.

Its ownership will remain with the state government. The state government will use the airstrip under the Regional Air Connectivity Scheme. That is, the flight of small planes will be operated for the passengers from this airstrip.

Actually, the state government has given permission to a private company Falcon to run its activities for training at Rewa airport. The state government had asked AAI to allow the training activity of the company to continue, but AAI has not agreed to it. Due to which this company has brought an order from the court not to do any activity by AAI at Rewa airport.

After the court's order, AAI has now agreed with this company to run its training activity at Satna airport instead of Rewa, but both have not yet informed the court about their agreement. The company had sought to run training activity at Ujjain airport as an alternative, but backed out due to high airstrip fare at Ujjain.
