A peace committee meeting was organized by Ranchi Deputy Commissioner (DC), Rahul Kumar Sinha, on Friday, to ensure that Durga Puja is completed with harmony among all religions.

All the members of the Peace Committee and all the concerned people attended the meeting. Sinha, while welcoming all the Peace Committee members who came to the meeting, said that cooperation of the District Administration for the successful organization of Durga Puja is expected from all the Peace Committee members. Everyone's participation will make this festival even bigger and grander.

The DC said that participation of all religions is very important in ensuring that Durga Puja is completed with all religious harmony. People of all religions should show solidarity so that Durga Puja can be completed with everyone's cooperation, goodwill and brotherhood.

Sinha told all the peace committee members that they should not get involved in small disputes and should take part in ending them immediately. In case of any dispute, immediately inform the district administration, so that the law can be followed.

The DC specially said in the meeting that always during big events in the district, some anti-social elements deliberately spread such news on social media, due to which a situation of tension is created in the city. Similarly, he appealed to all the people to use social media carefully. "Do not spread any message that may create tension on social media. The district administration will take strictest action against those who do so. The district administration is keeping an eye on such incidents 24 hours," he added.

Sinha appealed to all the Peace Committee members present in the meeting to show their participation in cleanliness by doing shramdaan in the puja pandals of Ranchi city.
