A day before the Bahuda Yatra (Return Car Festival), thousands of pilgrims on Tuesday paid their obeisance to the Trinity, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Maa Subhadra on the occasion of Sadhya Darshan in the Gundicha Temple here on the last day of the nine-day sojourn of the deities in the Gundicha shrine.
On Wednesday, the Bahuda Yatra will be celebrated with the Lords resuming their return journey to the Shreemandir. To carry them on, three chariots were kept ready in front of the Gundicha Temple.
As per schedule, the Pahandi Bije of the deities will start from 8 am. Before the chariots roll out, Gajapati King Dibyasingha Deb will perform his conventional Chherapanhara atop the chariots like he did on the Rath Yatra day.
The administration has made all efforts for early departure of the chariots from the Gundicha Ghar so as to ensure their arrival at the Jagannath Temple the same day. In view of the Suna Besha for the next day, the administration will have to engage itself in preparations for the safety of gold ornaments and security of a million of visitors in Puri.
