Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Monday conducted a surprise inspection in the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) office to check the attendance of employees. Many who turned up late received a stern warning from the Minister.
Accompanied by MLA Madan Lal Bagga, the Minister reached the office on the Ferozepur road at 7.50 am, checked the attendance registers and called all employees one by one to check their physical presence. After this, he also asked the employees to wear their identity cards while at work.
The Minister urged the employees to ensure that there should not be any kind of mismanagement in the functioning and the people get their day-to-day work done easily without any inconvenience. He asked them to achieve zero pendency in work as it would instill trust in the government, and its functioning among the public.
“The government would ensure eight hours of power for farmers in the upcoming paddy sowing season and that there would be no power shortage as the PSPCL has made adequate arrangements. Ludhiana, being an industrial hub of the country, the PSPCL was determined to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the industries,” he said.
