Paw wrestling competition concludes in Bhopal

State Level Disabled Paw Wrestling Competition held in Bhopal concluded at  Sparsh Bhavan, Bhopal on Wednesday. The award ceremony was attended by Minister of Social Justice and Disabled Empowerment Prem Singh Patel, Government of Madhya Pradesh;  Commissioner of the Department of Social Justice and Disabled Empowerment Nishaktajan Kalyan; Co-founder and film star Preeti Jhingiyani and  Praveen Dabas; Sandeep Rajak; Keshav Pandey and Ravi Kopargaonkar of Sakshav among others were present.

Speaking during the award ceremony, Prem Singh Patel said that disabled players are coming forward after working hard and that the government will give every possible help to make them eligible for competitions at national and international levels. He exhorted the contestants to work hard and make the state and the country proud by their performances.

Commissioner Disabled welfare hoped that the winners of state level competitions will illuminate Madhya Pradesh in the future national level competitions. He said that all participants from different districts in the state level competition deserve appreciation. He also opined that it’s a big deal to get this far and asked the contestants to work hard without giving up. Rajak said that practice and training activities towards sports will be intensified in the districts.

Co-founder and film star Preeti Jhingiyani and Praveen Dabas also spoke on the occasion. Dabas said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state from where handicapped women and men have been competing in district as well as  state level claw wrestling competitions. He added that there will be national level competition after other states complete their competitions.  hingiyani said that Madhya Pradesh is doing a very good job in the field of sports and opined that Bhopal is a very beautiful capital.

The winners in the male category include  Manish Kumar of Gwalior getting first position in 60 KG category;  Manoj Patel of Badwani and Mr. Bhagwan Singh Banjara of Dewas district getting second and third places in the 60KG category; Arvind Rajak of Bhind getting first position in under 60 KG category while Niranjan Gurjar of Morena and Ankit Chauhan of Indore getting second and third positions.

In the female category Rajni Prajapati of Gwalior District got first position in the 60KG category while Ramvilasi Rathore of Morena District and Sunita Solanki of Dewas District got second and third positions respectively.  Ayodhya Prajapati of Morena district got 1st place in the under 60KG category while  Sonam Rathore of Gwalior got the second position.
