Two brothers committed suicide by hanging themselves in Sambhal while the third brother was rescued in time and is now battling for his life in a private hospital.
Police officers, who reached the spot and carried out investigations, said that the family claimed that the incident took place over a family dispute. However, the police suspect foul play as both the bodies were cremated before informing the police about the suicide.
According to reports, Paan Singh (19), the younger son of Vijay Singh of Aurangabad village under Dhanari police station of Sambhal, had some dispute at home over a petty issue after which he went to the field and committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on Thursday afternoon.
On getting information about the incident, the family members reached the spot and brought the body home. After three hours, Paan Singh’s brother Brijesh Yadav (20), with whom Paan had some dispute, went to the room of the house and hanged himself. Luckily, the family members saw him hanging and brought him down and rushed him to a private hospital where he was still lying in an unconscious state in the intensive care unit.
In the meantime, the information was passed on to the eldest brother, Munish (22), working in Punjab. He immediately left for home. He was very upset after coming to know the fact and on the way back home, he got down from the train at Dhanari station and hanged himself near the bridge.
According to a relative, Munish called him and informed him that he would also not live and was going to end his life.
“When my brothers are no more then what will I do living alone. I am going to commit suicide by hanging myself. Come here and take my dead body,” Munish wrote in his suicide note, praying for peace of the departed souls of his brothers. He later hanged himself and when the family reached the place mentioned by Munish, they saw his body hanging from a tree.
Police got the information after the family had cremated the bodies of both brothers. Now the family members are being interrogated. Police are waiting for Brijesh Yadav to regain consciousness to record his statement. The police suspect that property dispute could be behind the incident and the victims had not ended their lives but were murdered.
