The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said the cyclonic circulation over west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal now lies over west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal off the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts.
Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the same region during the next 24 hours. The system is likely to concentrate into a depression over the same region around July 26.
Subsequently, it is likely to move slowly west-north-westwards across north Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts. This would the first depression this monsoon season, said the IMD’s Regional Office here.
On Tuesday, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam.
On Wednesday, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.
On the day, heavy rainfall is also very likely to occur in the districts of Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Nayagarh, Khorda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj.
