Light rains witnessed in Bhopal, elsewhere in Madhya Pradesh

Light rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms occurred in many areas of the state as weather suddenly changed again in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.

In the state capital too, there was a storm with a speed of about 60 kilometers per hour, while it remained cloudy throughout the day, light rain was recorded at some places. Similar weather is prevailing in Mandla, Burhanpur, Khargone, Khandwa, Dhar, Seoni and Balaghat. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather pattern will remain the same on Monday as well.

There is also intense heat in many areas of the state. The temperature in Rajgarh reached 43 degree Celsius on Sunday. Whereas, the temperature was recorded at 38.9 in Bhopal, 38.8 in Indore, 41.3 in Gwalior and 39.6 degree Celsius in Jabalpur.

Earlier on Saturday evening, there was heavy rain with thunderstorms in Khandwa city. The wind blew at a speed of 70 km per hour. The wall of the house under construction in Vatsala Vihar Colony fell on an elderly watchman. Security guard Sewalya (70) died after being hit by a brick on his head of an under construction house while his wife Kashibai and grandson Yash have minor injuries.

In Khargone city too, it rained with strong wind after thunder on Saturday evening. Light drizzle occurred in Mandla as well. In Burhanpur too, it was cloudy at 9 o'clock in the night and after half an hour there was drizzling and heavy rain at some places. Strong wind also blew. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of Western Disturbance, the situation of rain was created. Due to the direction of winds from Khargone and Burhanpur towards Khandwa through Maharashtra, it has rained with lightning.

According to meteorologists, after April 17, there may be rain with thunder and lightning. There is a possibility of rain in Bhopal on April 18 and 19.

Meteorologist Pandey told that the Western Disturbance has become active in North India. Its effect will be seen more in North India. Due to this, hot winds will not come in Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, a circulation has formed over Southwest Rajasthan. The trough line is passing from North Chhattisgarh to Kerala via Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka. Some moisture remains from the Arabian Sea. Due to this, the weather is expected to change on 18 and 19 April. In the southern part of the state i.e. Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Betul, Harda, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla and Balaghat, there will be a situation of thunder and lightning.

According to the Meteorological Department, light drizzle may occur in Narmadapur, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Indore, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Mandla on April 18 and 19. The effect of heat is expected in other cities including Gwalior, Ujjain.

In Madhya Pradesh, it was partly cloudy on Saturday in many cities including Bhopal. Due to this, a drop in mercury was recorded in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and other cities. However, in Gwalior, the sun showed its attitude and the highest temperature so far reached 41 degrees. Here the mercury has increased by 2.7 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, 37.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bhopal, 37.8 in Indore, 35.9 in Jabalpur, 41 in Gwalior. Rajgarh was the hottest. The temperature here reached 42.5 degree Celsius. The mercury crossed 41 degrees in Khajuraho, Khargone and Shivpuri.

The Meteorological Department said that on April 17, there will be intense heat in Bhopal. Partly cloudy in the afternoon. Due to this, the day temperature will remain around 40 degrees and at night around 23 degrees.
