Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC), on Sunday, attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government for Manipur incident and appealed to President of India, Draupadi Murmu to exercise her rights as a woman by taking suo motu cognizance of the Manipur issue. The party accused the Prime Minister (PM), Narendra Modi of not following Rajdharma.

Addressing a press meet at the party headquarter in the State Capital Mahagama MLA, Dipika Pandey Singh said the PM gives big speeches in foreign countries, but he did not have two words for Manipur, when the Supreme Court took suo moto cognizance, the PM involuntarily addressed the media. By giving less speeches on Manipur, he talked on Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, he did the work of politicizing such an incident as well, she added.

“Peace should be established by at least making an appeal. We are proud of our Leader, Rahul Gandhi. Amidst all the obstacles, he went and every community hugged him, the Government tried to stop him, but he neither stopped nor bowed down nor was afraid. The question arises as to what their secret agencies were doing. Where has the readiness shown in Manipur to intimidate the opposition MLAs to get them included in the BJP? While the Women's Commission has expressed concern even to the Governor of Manipur, but the violence in Manipur has not stopped,” Pandey said.

The MLA also said that it is also sad that instead of establishing peace in Manipur, the Chief Minister of Manipur says that such incidents happen in hundreds, this statement is the height of moral degradation. “It has become very clear that there is no respect for women in BJP. Why is Smriti Irani, the Minister of Women and Child Development, who protested on the streets by placing a gas cylinder on her forehead when the price of petrol and gas increased slightly in the UPA government, is silent. Are they not even ordered to speak who are women themselves? Shame on you, if you, being a woman, cannot condemn such an incident on a woman, you should resign immediately,” she added.

Pandey further said that the sexual harassment of women in every State is a separate issue, but it is absolutely wrong to link it with Manipur's issue, to link it with that video of Manipur but it is unfortunate that the PMr of the Country had to speak on Manipur, but he was talking about Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Assam, Delhi shame on your politics. “Did you say a single word for women wrestlers? Your MP is misbehaving with the sisters of the media, the daughters who won medals for the Country are feeling helpless on their laughter and the entire BJP party stands in support of that MP but one thing is also certain that in the arrogance of power, even the Kauravas had insulted Draupadi and today we all know that the result was the destruction of the entire Kaurava dynasty,” she added.
