People of the Jain community staged a protest demanding arrest of the miscreants involved in stealing idols from the Jain temple at Vardhaman Nagar located in Data Colony near Airport Road.

On the night on Sunday two miscreants had stolen a silver crown, a throne and three idols made of Ashta metal from the Jain temple in Vardhaman Nagar located in Data Colony of Airport Road. The value of the stolen goods was said to be around Rs 8 lakh.

Police claim that 6 teams are investigating. Till now CCTV cameras of 25 places have been scanned. A road map for the escape of the accused is being prepared.

Meanwhile, angry over the non-arrest of the accused, the Jain community staged a protest along with women and children in the temple premises on Wednesday.

President  of  Temple committee Subhash Jain Kala said that on Wednesday, the Jain community staged a protest in the temple premises demanding immediate arrest of the accused and recovery of stolen valuables. The value of the items stolen from the temple is around Rs 8 lakh. The miscreants targeted the temple at the time of tight security arrangements in the city regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bhopal. There is anger among the people of the society after the theft incident.

Temple President Subhash Jain Kala said, the society has decided that a continuous flame will continue to be lit in the temple premises until the thieves are caught. This sequence has been continuing for three consecutive days. A reward of Rs 51,000 has also been announced by the police on the arrest of the accused.

Kohefiza police station in-charge Brijendra Marskole said that the Crime Branch, Cyber Crime, FSL team along with a team of ACP and a team of the police station are engaged in search of the accused.

At present no concrete information has been received regarding the accused.
