Comply with services ordinance, officials told

New Delhi:  The Delhi government’s law department has directed all the top officials for a “strict compliance” of the Centre’s ordinance related to services issued earlier this month. In a communication sent to all the additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretaries and heads of departments on May 26, the law department asked for a “strict compliance” of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023 issued by the Centre related to services. The move came following a letter from the lieutenant governor’s (LG) office to the Delhi chief secretary on May 23, informing him to bring the ordinance to the notice of all the top officials of the city government for a “strict compliance”. The ordinance issued by the Centre on May 19 brought back the executive control over matters related to services, including the transfers and postings of Delhi government officers, to its domain.

Contamination free drive in hauz khas ward

New Delhi: Delhi Jal Board (DJB) Vice Chairman Somnath Bharti has launched a “Contamination Free Drive” in Hauz Khas Ward No. 148 of Malviya Nagar area today under the policy of zero tolerance against supply of contaminated water in the national capital. Bharti reached Hauz Khas ward number 148 early in the morning and had the water quality tested by the quality control team of DJB. The DJB team collected water samples from houses of the area at 4 am when water supply commenced and tested the water quality on the spot. A total of 33 samples were collected by the quality control team of DJB and the testing revealed that 31 samples met the prescribed quality standards. The DJB Vice Chairman said that this drive will run in every assembly constituency of Delhi.

Paryawaran Sammelan to be held

New Delhi: Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai chaired a joint meeting with the officers of the Environment and Forest Department and decided to organise a “Paryawaran Sammelan” at Thyagraj Stadium. After the meeting,  Rai said that during this program, children and teachers of about 2000 eco clubs of Delhi will be present in the event.  “Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal will be the chief guest of this program. The program will encompass the screening of feature films, street plays, and other awareness-raising activities for the children present. Additionally, the winners of the slogan writing competition held during the I Love Yamuna campaign will be felicitated on the spot”, he said.

‘Now political class intolerant to media criticism’

New Delhi: There has been gradual depletion between the relation between the political class and media. The political class is no longer tolerant of their criticism in the media,” said Dr Shashi Tharoor, the Member of Parliament and former under-secretary general of the United Nations. He was speaking at the official launch of Dr Vijay Darda’s latest book “Ringside: up close and personal on India and Beyond” at the constitution club, in New Delhi. The book was unveiled by none other than the distinguished writer and politician, Dr Tharoor who has also written the preface of the book. At the launch, Sanjaya Baru, former advisor to the PM Manmohan Singh, Shekhar Gupta, eminent journalist and padamshree awarded journalist Rajdeep Sardesai were present on the stage.

‘Jhootha Kahin Ka’ screened in capital

New Delhi: The short film ‘Jhootha Kahin Ka’ based on the lies and deceit of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, being shown in different parts of Delhi by the Delhi BJP, was screened at Connaught Place on Thursday, in which Leader of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Delhi BJP Vice President Ashok Goyal, New Delhi District President Prashant Sharma along with BJP workers and general public saw and heard the story of Kejriwal’s false promises and misdeeds. There was a lot of attraction for this short film among the people gathered in large numbers.  Bidhuri said that every mistake of Kejriwal government, which is steeped in corruption, is slowly coming out. After watching the short film ‘Jhootha Kahi Ka’ based on Kejriwal’s lies, the people of Delhi have understood that in the last eight years, the Chief Minister of Delhi Kejriwal has shown only betrayed the people of Delhi instead of development.
