The Unit 4 of Hasdeo Thermal Power Station (HTPS) West made a record of continuous power generation for 111 days. It still continues to generate power.
The unit has broken a record of 38 years since inception, Sanjeev Katiyar, Managing Director (Generation) of the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Co, said on Thursday.
He said it was a record that Unit No 4 has been generating electricity non-stop for the last 111 days, 9 hours 53 minutes and is still running.
It broke its own old record of continuous power generation since its commissioning 38 years ago. The continuous operation of the unit with old technology is an achievement, he said.
He added that unit no 2 of HTPS is also generating electricity continuously for 112 days, 15 hours and 6 minutes. It is also moving towards registering a new record. Chhattisgarh State Power Co Chairman Ankit Anand congratulated all the officers and employees for the achievement. He said this was achieved due to hard work, dedication and team spirit.
The Hasdeo Thermal Power Station has four units of 210 MW each, established in 1986.
