Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said that Haryana is the first state in the country which is procuring 14 crops at minimum support price (MSP) in the interest of farmers. Along with this, the rest of the crops are being procured through Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana.
He assured that the farmers would be given compensation till the month of May for the crop loss due to recent unseasonal rains and hailstorms.
Interacting with the people during his ongoing Jan Samvad programme in Palwal’s Hodal town, he said that the government stands with the common man and along with basic infrastructural development, the benefits of government services are being provided to the citizens through Parivar Pehchan Patra. Giving relief to the safai karamcharis of Hodal Municipal Council, the Chief Minister ordered the immediate release of 75 per cent pending salary of the concerned karamcharis.
The Chief Minister said that Ayushman cards for 12,833 people in Hodal with a population of about 60,000 have been made and out of them, 128 people have got free treatment worth about Rs 26 lakh. He said that under the Parivar Pehchan Patra, 1160 new ration cards have been made in Hodal, while earlier 5500 ration cards were made. “The government is now automatically making pensions for the elderly people who are above 60 years of age, under which the pension of 44 elderly people in Hodal has been made so far. The government has increased the annual income limit of the elderly from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh,” he added.
He said that the government is taking concrete steps to eliminate corruption. “The government is working with transparency and employment opportunities are being made available to the qualified youth. Till now in Palwal, the present government has given employment to 2866 youths without any parchi-kharchi, out of which 97 jobs have been given to the youths of Hodal,” said Khattar.
The Chief Minister also announced Rs 2.5 crore for the development of the Hodal mandi. He said that to solve the drinking water problem in this area, the government is implementing various schemes. He also accorded approval for various other development schemes including the road network and said that the construction work of a new bus stand in Hodal would start soon.
He also formally inaugurated the newly constructed bus stand at Hassanpur village on the third day of his ongoing Jan Samvad programme in Palwal and also announced to start buses from Hassanpur to Chandigarh and Mathura soon.
Addressing the people, the Chief Minister said that adequate arrangements have been made at the newly constructed bus stand built on one acre of land at a cost of about Rs 4.25 crore. Keeping in view the convenience of the passengers, the state government has purchased one acre of land for the new bus stand from Gram Panchayat Hassanpur for about Rs 64 lakh.
Interacting with people at another Jan Samvad programme at Khambi village, Khattar said that for a permanent solution to the problem of drinking water in Palwal’s Khambi village, the village will be included in the Rs 200-crore Rainy-well project. Apart from this, the state government will consider the demand for Girls' College in the village and the work of construction of three main roads of the area will be started soon, he said.
Also, on the request of the Brahmin Mahasabha, the Chief Minister instructed the concerned authorities to give 2,000 yards of land for Dharamshala at circle rate as per the rules from the vacant government land in Palwal.
“For the last eight-and-a-half years, the government has been moving forward with the vision of all-round development of every section. This is the reason that today the public is openly appreciating the pro-people policies of the government,” he added.
Terming the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) essential for the public, the Chief Minister said that the population in the village will be counted for the number of families who have got PPP made. He said that the families who have not got their PPP cards made should do it at the earliest as the government approves the grant amount for the development of the village according to the population.
In the midst of Jan Samvad programme, the Chief Minister took strict cognizance of a complaint by a local youth, Hemant, who apprised him about bribe-taking in the name of police verification. On this, the Chief Minister directed the Superintendent of Police to take necessary action in this regard. He said that the government is working effectively to root out corruption and called upon the people to share information about the bribe-takers for strict action against them.
In a separate Jan Samvad function at Badoli village in Palwal, Khattar said that the people of the state are his family and it is his job to take care of them. He said that in the last 8 and a half years, the state government has worked for the welfare of the people by implementing various schemes.
Referring to the data of Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), the Chief Minister said that through this, about 72 lakh families were identified in the state. Based on the PPP data, he said that there are 3100 elders who are living alone. “The government has decided to take care of these people by paying full expenses and also by setting up ashrams for them,” he added.
