Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday dedicated 11 flyovers on the eight-lane National Highway from Delhi to Panipat at Sonipat. The project with a length of 24 km has been completed at a cost of about Rs 900 crore.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar thanked the Union Minister for giving the gift of road projects to the people and said that 17 National Highways have so far been constructed in the State. He said that perhaps Haryana is the only State in which all district headquarters have been connected to the National Highway. Apart from this, several projects are in the pipeline.
Khattar said that the present State Government works on a principle that hit hard on 3Cs - Corruption, Crime and Caste-based Politics, adding that the Government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. Apart from this, special emphasis has been laid on 5-S Shiksha (education), Swasthya (health), Svabhiman (self-respect), Suraksha (security) and Svavlamban (self-reliance). In Haryana, eligible citizens are getting the benefit of every scheme sitting at home through the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP).
FOUNDATION STONE OF KARNAL GREENFIELD 6-LANE RING ROAD
Gadkari also laid the foundation stone for the construction of Rs 1690 crore Karnal Greenfield 6-lane Ring Road project at a programme organised in village Kutail of district Karnal. Addressing the gathering, Gadkari said that the 35-kilometer-long Ring Road project would be constructed from Shamgarh on NH-44 of Karnal upto Barota Road and would significantly help in reducing the congestion of Karnal city.
He praised Chief Minister Manohar Lal saying that under his leadership Haryana has become a prosperous State. Gadkari said that today Haryana’s national highways are at par with the national highways of America. He said Ring road is being constructed in Delhi and after December, it will take only three hours to reach Jaipur. Earlier, it used to take 4.5 hours to travel from Meerut to Delhi but now it takes only 45 minutes. Similarly, now it will take two hours to travel from Delhi to Dehradun and 1.5 hours from Delhi to Haridwar.
GAURAVSHALI BHARAT RALLY
In another function, Gadkari praised Haryana Chief Minister for transforming the state by working honestly in the last eight-and-a-half years and assured all support and cooperation of his Ministry to the State.
Addressing the “Gauravshali Bharat Rally” organised on the completion of nine years of the Central Government at Sonipat, he conceded the demand of Chief Minister Khattar and announced to give Rs 300 crore under the Setu Bharatam Yojana for the construction of ROB and RUB to make Haryana free of railway level crossings.
Gadkari said that his Ministry is working on 100 projects in Haryana which are expected to be completed by December 2024. Out of these, 51 projects of 2200 km worth Rs 47,000 crore have been completed whereas, 30 projects of 830 km worth Rs 35,000 crore are in progress. He said that among 19 other projects of 756 km worth Rs 20,000 crores, a detailed project report of 14 projects is being prepared.
He assured the Chief Minister that works on projects involving an investment of Rs 2 lakh crore would be carried out in Haryana by December 2024. These projects would change the image of Haryana and the roads of the State would be developed at par with America.
