Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district has achieved 100 percent success in operating cases of blindness caused by cataract in both eyes. Based on a survey, 223 patients were operated.
The Dhamtari administration conducted a survey of patients with cataract in both eyes in April 2022. Accordingly, the 223 were identified, an official communication said on Monday.
Nodal Officer of Blindness Control Programme Dr. J.S. Khalsa said the district achieved 100 percent success. The patients have regained their vision.
Cataract is an age-related disease due to which the vision decreases and becomes blurred. It can be cured with a brief operation, he said.
