Rain welcomed the devotees of Ram involved in the Ramnavami procession on Thursday in some districts of the State including Ranchi. The devotees braved rain and participated in very large numbers in the procession. Some parts of the State witnessed heavy rain with fast blowing wind.
People from every strata participated even women and girls participated in large numbers even after there was prediction of heavy to moderate. The citizens witnessed such a huge procession after three years of gap due to various kinds of Corona infection wave.
Indian Meteorological Center (IMC) Ranchi has issued a warning regarding the bad weather on the auspicious occasion. According to the Meteorological Center, strong surface wind speed of 30 to 40 kmph is likely to occur with thunder at isolated places over southern and adjoining central parts of the State. On the other hand, on March 31, along with the warning of hailstorm at some places in the southern and nearby central parts of the State, there has been a warning of wind speed of 40 to 50 km with thunder and lightning could be witnessed in the State.
Apart from this, on April 1 also, the Meteorological Center has said that there will be thunder and lightning at some places in the State with wind blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km.
IMD, Ranchi, Scientist Abhishek Anand said that there is more weather activity on March 31 and April 1. Due to the low pressure and local system in the Bay of Bengal, there are chances of thunder and hail accompanied by thunder. That's why people should be alert for two days. Stay indoors when the weather is bad. Avoid going out. However, he has said that the weather will be normal from April 2.
Anand further said that there is no change in the maximum temperature during the next 24 hours across the State including Ranchi. In this regard, the forecasting officer of the Meteorological Center has said that there may be a drop of 3-4 degrees in the next two days. Then after this the temperature will rise by 2-4 degrees. According to the Meteorological Center, on March 30, the maximum temperature of Ranchi will be 34 and the minimum temperature will be 21 degrees. While on March 31, the maximum temperature is expected to be 32 and the minimum temperature is 19 degrees. There, on April 1, the maximum temperature will be 30 and the minimum temperature will be 18 degrees.
The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to be alert. The nine districts where weather will change include Ranchi, Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, Khunti, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad and Jamtara. The possibility of rain has been expressed in many districts of the state on Wednesday. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain on 30 and 31 March. The weather will be normal from April 1 to 3. The maximum rainfall is likely to occur on March 31. That's why the Meteorological Department has asked people to be alert. Farmers should be careful in view of the possibility of rain. Stay away from the fields for two days. Lightning can cause loss of life and property.
