Arjun Kumar Sahoo, Assistant Engineer, Rural Works Sub-Division, Salipur, Cuttack district, has been found in possession of properties worth crores of rupees, including 21 plots, during raids by the Odisha Vigilance over allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
During the house searches, officers of the anti-corruption agency have so far traced the following properties in the names of Sahoo and his family members.
1) A three-storied building at Khandagiri Vihar, Bhubaneswar worth around Rs 1 crore
2) A single-storied building at Sadanandapur, Derabis, Kendrapada
3) 21 plots, including one in a prime area of Bhubaneswar, and other plots in Kendrapada district. The measurement and valuation/ assessment of the buildings/ plots were being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing
4) Cash Rs 5,45,040
5) Bank deposits and investment in share market worth over Rs 88.26 lakh
6) Postal, insurance and other deposits
7) 3 four-wheelers and four two-wheelers
Till last reports came in, the raids were underway while the total value of his movable and immovable properties was yet to be calculated.
