Crime Branch Bhopal has arrested absconding accused in the NDPS case on Thursday morning and seized 250 grams of drugs worth Rs 2.5 lakh from the accused.
According to the police, criminal cases are registered against the accused in several police stations. Apart from this, Rajesh Sharma was absconding for the past one month in the case of Minor Act. The accused is a resident of Kolar, Nayapura, Bhopal.
The police are conducting an operation to catch illegal drug traffickers in the city and based on information regarding the absconding accused Rajesh Sharma. Police immediately took action on the information received. Rajesh Sharma alias Pandit was standing under an electric pole behind a community hospital near Nayapura Kolar, who was caught by the police.
Accused confessed to the crime during police interrogation. He had bought 800 gms of drugs from Mohammad Tahir of Shahjahanabad. On the spot, 250 grams of drugs was recovered from his possession. Now the accused has been arrested and taken to police remand.
Meanwhile, Piplani police have seized 63 liters of liquor worth Rs 22750 from Satnami Nagar; the accused has been booked for over two dozen cases.
Police said that on Wednesday information was received that Poonam Jogi, a watch list goon of Piplani police, is keeping illegal liquor in her shop at Satnami Nagar.
In the shop Poonam Jogi was found inside the shop and recovered two sacks, one sack contained 180 bottles of country made liquor while the other sack contained 170 bottles of country made liquor. A total of 63 liters of liquor worth Rs.22750 was confiscated under Section 34 (2) of the Excise Act for being illegal liquor.
