As per the instructions of Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Rajesh Thakur, the District Congress Committee burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah today against the inhuman and shameful incident with women in Manipur in all the districts of the state.
In this series, under the auspices of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee, the burning of effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah against the inhuman and shameful incident with women in Manipur in Ranchi, the state capital, on Thursday at Albert Ekka Chowk, carried out under the leadership of State President Rajesh Thakur.
Addressing the media after the effigy burning programme, Thakur said that it is extremely shameful and condemnable that even in the 21st century, such vandalism is done to a woman. He said that such incidents are happening more in BJP-ruled states. He said that this incident of Manipur has brought shame not only to Manipur but to the whole of India.
He said that the BJP, which gave the slogan of 'Beti Padhao Beti Bachao', should tell whether daughters will be saved in this way. He said that when will the Modi government stop pretending that all is well, when the Chief Minister of Manipur will be removed. The silence and inaction of the Prime Minister has pushed Manipur towards anarchy. He said that the viral video against women is heart wrenching. Questioning the Prime Minister, he said whether such incidents do not make the Prime Minister restless. Such incidents do not bother him. He said that BJP's claim of Nari Shakti is proving hollow if Manipur cannot ensure justice for women.
Working President Bandhu Tirkey said that humanity has died in Manipur. The country will never be able to forgive PM Modi for his silence. Instead of blaming others for his own failures in the state and at the Centre, PM Modi should tell the nation what has happened in Manipur. We want a detailed discussion on Manipur in Parliament and PM Modi should give a detailed statement on the violence in the House. The resignation of the Chief Minister of Manipur should be taken immediately and President's rule should be imposed.
MLA Deepika Pandey Singh said that there has been brutality with women in Manipur. This has made all of us hang our heads in shame. It is very regrettable that today after 78 days the Prime Minister has opened his mouth about the Manipur violence, but during this also he only did politics. The CJI also had to comment, did the Prime Minister have to speak because of this shame? Will women get justice or not? India will seek answers from the government regarding this video outside the house and inside the house.
Hundreds of Congressmen included State Office President Bandhu Tirkey, Sukhdev Bhagat, MLA Deepika Pandey Singh, State Congress Vice President Anwar Ansari, Amulya Neeraj Khalkho, Rakesh Sinha, Vinay Sinha Deepu, Satish Paul Munjani, Suryakant Shukla, etc.
