Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan garlanded the portrait of freedom fighter, immortal martyr Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil on his birth anniversary on Sunday at his residence. The CM paid floral tributes while remembering him.
Freedom fighter Bismil was born on 11 June 1897 in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Pandit Bismil was the main fighter of the revolutionary stream of the Indian independence movement, who was hanged by the British government at the age of 30.
Bismil was involved in many incidents like Mainpuri Conspiracy and Kakori-Kand for the independence of the country. He was also a member of the Hindustan Republican Association and a poet, Shayr (Urdu poet), translator, multi-linguist, historian and litterateur.
