To facilitate appellants and to ensure speedy hearing of cases, the State Information Commission, Chhattisgarh, on Wednesday permitted that cases can be heard virtually through mobile devices.
The State Information Commission has launched an initiative enabling the appellants to engage in the hearings of their second appeal using mobile devices, an official communication said.
It has facilitated the appellants to conveniently participate in the proceedings from any location or home, leveraging video conferencing technology via their mobile phones.
On Wednesday, on a trial basis, the hearing of several persons was conducted by State Information Commissioners Manoj Trivedi and Dhanvendra Jaiswal.
Under Right to Information, the cases of Thakur Naval Singh from Bilaspur and Devashish from Kanker were heard in the second appeal hearing, where the appellant attended the hearing through their mobile phone.
The appellants appreciated the initiative permitting them to attend the hearing while sitting at home. It helped them to save time.
State Information Commissioner Trivedi said that the appellants should use a better mobile network so that they can access better audio and video quality.
Jaiswal said that earlier the appellants were attending the hearing by visiting the State Information Commissioner’s courtroom or the NIC’s video-conferencing room located in the district Collector’s office.
The Secretary, SIC, G.R. Churendra, said a link will be sent to the registered mobile number of the appellant from the court of the State Information Commissioner.
