CHI school students falls sick, hospitalized

Students of  Children's Hope India (CHI) Girls School  in Gandhi Nagar were rushed to hospital after they reported illness in the morning on Monday.

At around 10.30 am on Monday morning, class 9 girl students suddenly started coughing. Staff got the class room vacated when the coughing of the students didn't stop. Out of 25 to 30 students, most of the children were sent to Vijayashree Hospital. Reportedly their condition is normal.

According to school principal Priya Jain Sharma, class was going on in room number 16 on the first floor of the school building on Monday morning and suddenly the students started coughing. The health of 23 girls had deteriorated. However, the doctor of the hospital, SK Shukla, says that 25 to 30 students come for treatment and are normal.

The class room was evacuated when the cough of the students did not stop.

Principal Priya Jain Sharma said, the school is situated between residential colonies. There was a pile of garbage at some distance. Someone had set fire to this garbage dump. After this, there is a possibility of deteriorating the health of the students due to the smoke coming out. Investigation is being done.

The children of Gandhi Nagar have been sent to the nearby Vijayashree Hospital.

The girl students had brought complaints of shortness of breath, abdominal pain and vomiting

Dr. SK Shukla said that all the girl students had complaints of shortness of breath, abdominal pain and vomiting. All the students have been sent back home after giving treatment on the basis of symptoms.

According to the school principal, there were a total of 26 students in the class. The cough of some students stopped after coming out of the class room. While 23 students continued to cough. That's why he was sent to the hospital for treatment. Now all the girls have reached their homes.
