Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Monday that the Chhattisgarh Mahtari is a symbol of the state's identity, honour and pride.
“The Chhattisgarh government is dedicated to promoting the state’s art and culture,” he said.
He said this at an event in which he unveiled the statue of the Chhattisgarh Mahtari at the Collectorate office premises in Bijapur district.
He said: “Meaningful initiatives like the Tribal Dance Festival, Rejuvenation of Devgudi and Adivasi Parab Samman Nidhi have been taken to honour the tribal community.
“Initiatives are also being taken to celebrate Chhattisgarh’s traditional festivals on a large scale."
