Chhattisgarh has commenced the process to establish 29 more units to manufacture paint from cow dung. At present, there are 13 functional units.

Under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, Gauthans are establishing various manufacturing units. Vermicompost is made from cow dung, crop pesticide and Jeevamrut from cow urine, and other products are produced from cow dung.

Women Self-Help Group members are working in these units and are also involved in manufacturing paint from cow dung, an official communication said on Monday.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has approved 42 manufacturing units, out of which 13 have come up. The process for starting the rest has started.

All government buildings in Chhattisgarh will compulsory use the paint manufactured from cow dung.

The latest unit is at Majhgawanf in Korea district. Within a fortnight, the concerned women's group has sold 500 litres out of total 800 litres produced.
