In view of the immense potential of organic farming, the Indian government is promoting the certification of organic products.
For this, the Chhattisgarh Certification Society India for Forestry and Agriculture (CGCERT) is carrying out the work of organic certification of agricultural products, minor forest produce products, processed products and more, an official communiqué said on Monday.
The CGCERT certifies organic products as per the National Organic Production Programme.
The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, V. Srinivas Rao, said CGCERT monitors the organic production, processing, selling or handling activities in accordance with the organic standards.
