Track and trace system will be implemented in the state for liquor supply: Dy CM
Chandigarh: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said that a track and trace system will be implemented for liquor supply in the state to monitor all types of activities related to liquor sales, production, and movement. Chautala was presiding over the review meeting of the Excise and Taxation Department regarding the implementation of Track and Trace System for liquor supply in the state. He said that in the Haryana Excise Policy 2023-24, a provision was made to implement this QR-based track and trace system. Keeping in view the said goal, a QR-based Track and Trace System has been developed by the NIC, Haryana. This Track and Trace System will help to regulate and monitor the movement of liquor, capture the production and supply of liquor products on a real-time basis, and will also ensure the protection of Government revenue.
PGIMER doctors develop new technique to diagnose Cushing’s syndrome
Chandigarh: Professor Sanjay Kumar Bhadada, Head, Department of Endocrinology, PGIMER, Chandigarh said that doctors have developed a new technique to diagnose Cushing’s syndrome. The academy has accomplished another milestone as the Endocrinology Department, in collaboration with Department of Nuclear Medicine, developed Ga 68 CRH PET-CT, a novel imaging modality for the diagnosis of Cushing’s disease. The technique has been developed for the first time in the world and PGIMER has already applied for its patent. “Doctors from both departments have worked together and collaborated to develop a novel imaging modality Ga 68 CRH PET-CT for the diagnosis of Cushing’s disease and this innovative technique has been developed for the first time in the world. The effort, which took five long years, is a result of the hard work of the team of doctors, excellent research facilities here at the Institute and a will to work for the betterment of patients,” he added.

Chandigarh: The Haryana Skill Development Mission on Tuesday launched Ideathon Haryana 2023 to promote entrepreneurship and startup ideas among students of ITIs, HSDMs Training Centres, polytechnic colleges, and other educational institutions and the general public. Interested participants can register until December 1; the last date for submitting ideas is December 15. The announcement of awards will be made for the 21 winners from Haryana, receiving prize money totaling more than Rs. 4 lakh. Haryana invites applications for the Unemployment Allowance Scheme on SARAL Portal
Chandigarh: The Directorate of Employment Haryana has started the process for inviting applications under Unemployment Allowance Scheme from educated unemployed individuals via the user-friendly SARAL portal https://saralharyana.gov.in/ from November 1, 2023. An official spokesperson from the Employment Department said that applicants interested in availing themselves of the scheme's benefits can submit their necessary documents by November 30, at the respective employment offices. He further added that applicants can apply online through the Saral portal and reach out for detailed information by contacting the Directorate's helpline number, 1800-180-2403 from Monday to Friday between 10 AM to 5 PM.
Clear stand on new national education policy: SAD to CM
Chandigarh: Punjab’s former Education Minister and senior SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema on Tuesday asked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to clear the Government’s stand on the new national education policy, being implemented by the State Higher Education Department despite it being discriminatory towards Punjabi language and culture. “It is shocking that even as the Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal governments had refused to implement the new education policy in its present form, Punjab’s Higher Education Department was holding meetings with University administrations to implement the new policy, which has been framed with the idea of one country, one language and one syllabus,” said Cheema adding, “It is also aimed at reducing the influence of regional languages and culture”.
PSPCL launches industrial facilitation cell
Chandigarh: To prioritize and streamline services for the industrial sector, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) on Tuesday launched the Industrial Facilitation Cell (IFC) to be monitored by the office of PSPCL chairman-cum-managing director. The initiative aims to promptly address and resolve issues faced by industrialists related to the release of new connections, extension of load, and other power-related matters, said the state’s Power and PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, adding that the establishment of IFC comes as a response to demands raised by industrialists during the series of meetings with AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Volvo buses from Shimla to Delhi will no longer cross Pinjore Kalka Parwanoo HRTC
Shimla: The Volvo buses of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation plying from Shimla to New Delhi will no longer cross through Pinjore, Kalka and Parwanoo, HRTC officials said on Tuesday. The decision has been taken by the corporation after considering the demand of the commuters who complained that the buses are stuck in traffic leading to delay in their journey by one to two hours. “It has come to our knowledge through feedback received from the commuters that while going from Kalka, Pinjore and Parwanoo, Volvo buses get stuck in traffic jam in which one-two hours are wasted and the passengers insisted that Volvo buses should be ply from Parwanoo-Kalka- Pinjore bypass,” said Managing Director, HRTC, Rohan Chand Thakur on Tuesday. These changes have been made for the convenience of the commuters and travelling in Volvo would save about two hours in reaching New Delhi and passengers will be able to catch metro service and flights, avoiding the traffic jam in Delhi, he added. As per the office order, Volvo buses plying from Shimla to Delhi at 9:45 am will not enter Chandigarh city while the buses at 1:45 pm will not go to the Chandigarh bus stand and instead would divert to Zirakpur from Tribune Chowk in Chandigarh. The Volvo buses from Delhi to Shimla at 9:36 pm and 10:30 pm will not enter Chandigarh, it added.
