Himachal CM donates his savings towards 'Aapda Rahat Kosh'

Shimla: Exhibiting a rare example of generosity, Himachal's Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu donated his entire savings of around Rs. 51 Lakh towards the Aapda Rahat Kosh to extend a helping hand to the disaster-affected people of the State. Sukhu and his wife Kamlesh Thakur presented a cheque of Rs. 51 Lakh to Chief Secretary, Prabodh Saxena. "I could well understand the pain of the people and their plight during the recent monsoon fury in which more than 260 precious lives were lost and many rendered homeless, besides suffering huge losses" he said. Every section of the society had voluntarily contributed towards the relief fund.  Even the children broke their piggy banks to help those in distress, the elders parted away with their pension and the State government employees contributed generously from their salary to contribute towards the Aapda Rahat Kosh, he said, adding that the people of Himachal have stood together to face the catastrophe, said the Chief Minister. Sukhu also gave away his one year's salary and contributed 11 lakh towards the State Relief fund from his hard earned money and fixed deposits even during the COVID era and keeps on doing charity from time to time.

 

Himachal CM launches portal of State Electricity board

Shimla: Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday launched the integrated electricity consumer portal of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL), which will allow consumers to pay their bills online. Through the portal, HPSEBL will also offer services such as applications for change of name and load adjustments and for new electricity connections. This digital transformation initiative aims to usher in a paperless work culture within the organisation, which is expected to streamline administrative processes and expedite services, the chief minister said. This integrated portal marks a significant step forward in enhancing consumer convenience and promoting digitalization in the energy sector, promising a more efficient and accessible service for all citizens, said Sukhu.
The portal would have the energy generation data and offer the service to submit online invoices by Independent Power Producers (IPP) without the need to visit the offices concerned, the statement said.

Cardiac Surgery Centre to function in RPGMC Tanda this month

Shimla: Himachal Health and Family Welfare Minister Dhani Ram Shandil on Friday said that a Cardiac Surgery Centre has been established in Rajendra Prasad Medical College and Hospital (RPGMC), Kangra at Tanda and will start functioning from September 25. He said that a team from Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialties, Shimla, will support in conducting Open Heart Surgery in Tanda Hospital.

PEDA seeks suggestions from stakeholders on State Energy Efficiency Action Plan

Chandigarh:  Punjab New and Renewable Energy Sources department has sought suggestions from all the stakeholder departments of the state on the State Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP) within a week. CEO Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) Dr. Amarpal Singh urged all the departments to submit their suggestions at the earliest while addressing a Half-Day stakeholders’ workshop which was organized by the PEDA with the support of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), and the assistance of the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM). The CEO said that Punjab Government has been making concerted efforts to promote energy efficiency in Buildings, Industries, Municipalities, Agriculture, Transport and other sectors in the State.

125 Modern Bus Terminals constructed: Hry Transport Minister 

Chandigarh: Haryana Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma on Friday said that Haryana State Transport has constructed 125 modern bus terminals and a substantial number of bus queue shelters across the state, aimed at significantly improving traveler convenience.  During a review meeting with officials from the Transport Department, he said  that the department is actively engaged in the construction of new bus terminals in Kheri Chopta (Hisar), Jhojhu Kalan (Charkhi Dadri), and Kadma (Bhiwani). Additionally, new workshops are being established in Kurukshetra, Bahadurgarh, Mahendragarh, Palwal, and Kosli (Rewari).
