Suspense continues over the BJP Legislature Party leader in the Assembly. The state party legislators' eyes are fixed on the central leadership decision as to whom they will give the responsibility. In the last week of July, before the monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, the BJP Legislature Party meeting was held at the state office on 27 July. During this, there was a lot of discussion that the name of the leader of the Legislature Party would be agreed upon in the presence of Union Minister and Supervisor Ashwini Choubey. It was also about to be announced during that time. Although this did not happen. It was said that they have gone to Delhi with some names. Now in Delhi itself the top leaders of the party will decide on any one name. It is almost a month now. The MLAs are still waiting for their leader.
In fact, after being made the state president, Babulal Marandi had expressed his desire to free himself from the post of legislative party leader and to give the responsibility to other leaders of the party. In such a situation, during the meeting of the party legislature party held on July 27, there was every possibility that a new leader would be decided by deciding on a common name from among the legislators.
Also, in the Monsoon session, the party will show presence in the house along with the new leader of the Legislature Party. But due to some reasons the name could not be decided. According to the party, only Babulal remained the leader of the legislative party. Till the meeting of the Legislature Party, the names of many MLAs of the party kept floating as the leader of the Legislature Party. In these, more bets were being played on names like MLA CP Singh, Amar Kumar Bauri, Anant Ojha, Raj Sinha, Amit Mandal, Jai Prakash Bhai Patel. It was also discussed that since the party has shown work at many levels in terms of tribal class. Among these, from the appointment of Draupadi Murmu as the President to the appointment of Babulal Marandi as the State President, the works are important. In such a situation, from the point of view of the core voters of the party, only a leader of the General category should be given the reins of the Legislature Party.
On this scale, speculations have been made on the names of CP Singh, Raj Sinha, Anant Ojha. There has been a continuous discussion in the party about reposing faith in him for his dedication, experience and discharge of important posts. Union Minister Ashwini Choubey has taken opinion from the MLAs in the matter of Leader of Opposition. Based on the report, the central leadership will take a decision on the new leader. Next year, along with the Lok Sabha, assembly elections are also to be held in the state. The sooner this matter is decided, the better it will be in the interest of the party.
