The Congress on Monday congratulated the BJD for completing the 4th year in its fifth term and said though the party has benefitted, the people of the State have been neglected.
Quoting the India Today’s current report on best-performing States, Congress Media Cell chairman Ganeshwar Behera told reporters that Odisha occupies the 14th position among 20 States in field of agriculture, 13th in healthcare, 14th in law and order and 10th in creation of infrastructure. These are the so-called achievements of the BJD.
The BJD Government from the beginning had promised to create 1 lakh jobs every year; accordingly, 23 lakh jobs should have been created by now. But it has remained mere eyewash. More than 2.36 lakh Government posts are vacant, Behera said.
In terms of violence against women, Odisha stands second in the country. The Crime Branch has turned into “Crime Protection Branch”. If one reads the charge-sheet of the Naba Das murder case, one gets the impression that the Government is providing protection to the accused, Behera alleged.
Among others, Congress spokespersons Rajani Kumar Mohanty and Manoranjan Das also spoke.
