The Delhi Police on Monday organised a ‘Badakhana’ (elaborate lunch) for the officers and men from different units of city police that participated in the security paraphernalia of the recently concluded G20 Summit here at the Bharat Mandapam.
The personnel of the police headquarters (PHQ), Security, Traffic, New Delhi District, South West District and various others districts/Units who performed their duties in New Delhi and other District Areas during the mega event attended the celebratory lunch.
The Badakhana was organised by Delhi Police at Hall No.2 of Bharat Mandapam managed by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
Delhi LG VK Saxena participated in the Badakhana to encourage and motivate the staff. Delhi Police Commissioner, Special Commissioners of Police, Joint/Additional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and officers of all ranks also participated in the event.
In his address, LG lauded the efforts of Delhi Police in ensuring a foolproof security and Law and Order arrangement during G-20 Summit.
He appreciated the professionalism of Delhi Police in the conduct of the arrangement. He further acknowledged the sincerity and dedication with which every personnel performed his/her duties despite rain and long duty hours and compared their efforts and success to the scientists who had successfully managed and ensured the recent launch of Chadrayan 3. He exhorted and encouraged the staff to work with the same zeal and enthusiasm and keep up the good work being done by Delhi Police.
Underlining that the entire strength of Delhi Police worked in tandem to maintain law and order, manage traffic, handled sensitive areas, even as they provided flawless arrangements to the visiting Heads of States and Heads of Governments, Saxena emphasized that the same was achieved without causing much inconvenience to the common residents and commuters of the city.
