Assam CM appreciates the cleanliness efforts in MP

Madhya Pradesh has done the best work in the field of cleanliness and waste management. We will send a 25-member delegation to Bhopal and Indore including senior officials and Cabinet members of our state, you should guide them also. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said this in a video conference jointly organized by Madhya Pradesh and Assam.

The meeting was attended by Sarma along with all his Cabinet colleagues, collectors of all districts and officials of the urban administration of Assam. Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh and Minister of State OPS Bhadoria took part online from Madhya Pradesh.

The objective of the meeting was to apprise the Urban Development team of Assam about the remarkable efforts being made by Madhya Pradesh for urban sanitation and disposal of legacy waste.

Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Neeraj Mandloi and Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Bharat Yadav presented the plans. The remarkable achievements, strategy and future plans of Madhya Pradesh were discussed in detail. Along with special efforts for disposal of legacy waste in Indore and Bhopal, the efforts of behaviour change communication being done continuously in the state were also informed.

Principal Secretary Neeraj Mandloi assured all possible cooperation to Assam Chief Minister Sarma on behalf of the Madhya Pradesh government. It is known that Madhya Pradesh has attracted the attention of the entire country by setting many records in its urban cleanliness journey. The efforts being made by Madhya Pradesh, the experiences of sanitation services, waste management, behaviour change etc. are the subject of discussion in the country.

In the Swachh Sarvekshan-2022, Madhya Pradesh has received the honour of being the number one state in the country. Apart from this, Indore and Bhopal, the number one clean cities of the country, have also left their mark in the world. More than 80 per cent civic bodies of the state have increased their cleanliness ranking. Presently, the urban bodies of the state are busy in the preparations for the upcoming Swachh Sarvekshan-2023.
