Another case of suicide committed due to harassment by recovery agents of online app loan was reported in the state capital after a 25-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at Arif Nagar on Friday.
In the state capital Bhopal, not paying the installment of an online app proved costly for a young man. The recovery agent tortured him so much that he comitted suicide. Not only this, he did not stop calling even after his death. The family told the agent that he is no more in this world. On this the agent said that only a few rupees were left, so how could he die before that.
Faizan Khan (25) used to run a tea shop at Ghora Nakkas. He was found hanging in the house on Friday evening. Police arrived on the information of family members and took the body to Hamidia Hospital where post-mortem was done on Saturday and the body was handed over to the family members.
Deceased's brother Irfan said that Faizan was the fourth among the five brothers. Faizan did not come out of the room for several hours on Friday evening. When we looked, we found the gate locked from inside. Opened the gate somehow and when looked inside he was hanging.
Irfan told Faizan that he had received a call from recovery people after his death. Then it was revealed that he had taken a loan from an online loan app named Money View. We have no information as to why the loan was taken. The callers told in a very bad tone that he was not paying the loan installments. We told them that Faizan is no more in this world. He has committed suicide. Even on this he did not agree. He jokingly said that he had paid Rs 10,000. There were only a few rupees left, how did he die before that?
SI Ganesh Prasad of Gautam Nagar police station, who is investigating the case, said that the body of Faizan of street number 8, was found hanging. The case is being investigated. The detailed statements of the family members have not been recorded yet. We will take further action based on the facts revealed in the investigation.
