Three persons were injured after a truck hit head on a low-floor bus hit in the BRTS lane in front of Bairagarh Civil Hospital in the morning on Friday.
The accident happened while the truck driver was trying to escape after he hit an auto rickshaw in Khajuri.
Police have arrested the accused truck driver. A case of causing injury by negligent driving has been registered against him.
Head constable Ratiram said that the complainant Mor Singh is the driver of the red bus. He came from Lalghati to Bairagarh at 10.30 am on Friday. In front of the Civil Hospital, his bus was hit hard by a truck coming from the front at high speed in the BRTS corridor. The driver and two passengers of the bus suffered serious injuries in the accident. The glasses of the bus were shattered due to the collision.
Police have registered a case on the complaint of the bus driver.
Vasudev Chauhan (24) got injured due to glass hitting his head in and another passenger Pawan Sharma (45) suffered injuries on his head, hands and face. He was also injured by being hit by glass while driver Mor Singh's head hit the steering wheel and his hands and legs hit the dashboard sustaining injuries.
All three are being treated at Bairagarh Civil Hospital. A woman and another youth suffered minor injuries, who have been discharged from the hospital after initial treatment.
The driver of the truck, Anas Khan, is in police custody. He told the police that an auto driver had a minor accident with his truck in Khajuri. To avoid any argument with the auto driver, he tried to run away. The auto driver started following him. Frightened, he started driving the truck in the Bairagarh BRTS corridor. Because of which he collided with the bus. Anas is a resident of Raisen. An accident occurred while returning after delivering goods in Sehore.
Red bus conductor Vijay Yadav said that the accused truck driver Anas Khan is a minor. He and the passers-by caught him and handed him over to the police.
