Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Secretary Arabinda Kumar Padhee along with Horticulture Director Rohit Kumar Lenka on Sunday visited Kotia gram panchayat in Koraput district and interacted with local farmers.
Padhee took stock of the Kharif potato cultivation in the gram panchayat along with Koraput Collector Abdaal M Akhtar and also discussed about expansion of APC Kotia.
He further directed to insist on crop insurance, expansion of ginger, turmeric, potato, coriander, yam cultivation and on installation of solar cold room at Kotia.
Padhee said Kotia is one of the aspirational panchayats and has a lot of potential. The State Government is having a number of projects for the welfare of the farmers.
Many district officials and locals were present during the Secretary’s visit.
