7 developers handed over LoAs for establishing Agri feeders

Seven selected developers were handed over Letter of Award (LOA) for the establishment of agricultural feeders 82.90 MW solar plants for 14 substations for solarization (Shajapur-49 MW, Raisen-26 MW, Burhanpur-7.9 MW) under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Energy Security and Upliftment Maha Abhiyan (Kusum-C) scheme.

During this program, the Kusum-S scheme was presented by the Chairman of the Corporation, Girraj Dandotiya shared detailed information. Managing Director M.P. Energy Development Corporation Karmaveer Sharma was present on the occasion.

He told that under this scheme in the state the operated pumps will be solarized.

According to the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 04/05/2022, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in the state, India Under the Prime Minister Farmer Energy Security and Upliftment Campaign Scheme-C of the Government (MNRE) to supply electricity to agricultural pumps installed on agricultural feeders, agricultural feeders are energized with solar energy (solarization).

The plan is being implemented with the objectives of Solarizing the entire agricultural feeder and providing electricity to the farmers for irrigation, providing electricity at low rates to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited, reducing transmission losses by supplying energy directly to the power consumption point, creating employment opportunities by encouraging private investment.

The implementation plan would be Solarization of isolated agricultural feeders (about 8000) installed in the state, as per the target of MNRE, 2.70 lakh solarization pumps installed on agricultural feeders in the first phase. At present, solar plants of total 1250 MW capacity are being installed on about 600 agricultural feeders in the state. State implementing agency - MP Energy Development Corporation Limited, purchase of the entire electricity produced from the solar plant for 25 years by Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited.

Electricity supply on these feeders for 8 hours a day to supply agricultural needs. Establishment of solar plant on own land/lease land or available government land.  Determination of power purchase rate through open tender .

Developers would be selected through bidding. Company/Partnership Firm/LLP/Joint venture Firm/Consortium/Sole Proprietor (Individual/Farmer) could apply in the scheme.

In the first phase, solar plants with a total capacity of 1250 MW will be installed on about 600 agricultural feeders in the state.
