The excitement of Diwali was seen till late night in the state capital Bhopal with people enjoying fireworks. At the same time, the sound of firecrackers has started resonating with Govardhan Puja in the morning. Due to fireworks, about 200 tonnes more garbage will be generated than on normal days.

In such a situation, 7 and a half thousand sanitation workers have come into the field to clean the city. Carts are also roaming for door-to-door collection.

On a normal day, about 800 tonnes of dry and wet waste is generated in the city. Due to Diwali, about 200 tonnes of fireworks waste increased. Due to this, garbage is scattered on the streets and localities. To clean it, workers have been out in the field since morning. Cleaning has already been done in many areas including Tulsi Nagar, number five stop, Shivaji Nagar. Now the period of cleanliness has started in the colonies. The target is to systematically clean the entire city by noon.

In many colonies of Kolar, garbage was not cleared till 9.30 in the morning, but door-to-door collection continued.

Sending teams when complaints are received, Corporation officials said that there are 7 and a half thousand sanitation workers in the city, who started cleaning from 5 in the morning. In most of the areas, cleaning was completed by 9 am.

Teams are being sent to the places where complaints regarding cleanliness were received. However, there is garbage lying on major roads of many areas including Kolar and Hoshangabad Road. It will be up only by noon.

Most of the markets in the city remain closed on the second day of Diwali. Therefore, there will not be much problem in cleaning.

Cleaning has been going on since morning in New Market, 10 Number Market, Lakherapura, Kolar, Chowk Bazaar, Sarafa, Ibrahimpura, Jumerati, Janakpuri, Hanumanganj, Azad Market, Awadhpuri, Hoshangabad Road and other markets. The markets of the old city were open on Diwali. That's why garbage from shops has also come out.
