The state government is working with commitment to ensure the bright future of the boys and girls studying in the government schools of the state. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the State government has sent an amount of more than Rs 220 crore under DBT to the bank accounts of 4 lakh 90 thousand boys and girls studying in various government schools of Jharkhand till December 10, 2023 for the purchase of bicycles.
This includes beneficiary students of class 8th of session 2020-21, 2021-22 and 22-23. The amount is being deposited in the bank accounts of about 3 lakh 10 thousand remaining beneficiary students of the said session to buy bicycles by 29 December 2023.
During every camp and special camp of “Aapki Yojana – Aapki Sarkar – Aapke Dwar” funds for purchase of bicycles are being distributed among the students. A list has been sent by the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts for distribution of bicycles among the students studying in government schools. Including all the districts, the Welfare Department had received the list of about 8 lakh eligible beneficiary children. Eligible children of ST, SC, BC and other categories who were studying in 8th class in the year 2020-21 and are studying in 11th class in the current year.
Similarly, there are students of 8th class in 2021-22 and 10th class in the current year and 8th class in 2022-23 and 9th class in the current year and whose list has been sent to the department by the district. Till December 10, 2023, an amount of more than Rs 220 crore has been sent to the bank accounts of about 4 lakh 90 thousand children in 2878 camps through DBT for the purchase of bicycles. The amount is being deposited in the bank accounts of about 3 lakh 10 thousand remaining beneficiary students of the said session to buy bicycles by 29 December 2023.
