Out of 28 students studying in the session 2019-23 of the College of Fisheries Science, Gumla, 21 students have won the national level ICAR-JRF examination 2023. This national level JRF examination is being conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New It is conducted every year by Delhi.
This examination is conducted for the students who have graduated in agriculture and allied subjects to get admission in Post Graduation (PG). This year, the colleges in the first hundred ranks at the national level for the session 2019-23. Among the 21 successful students, Saurya Dutta has secured 5th rank, Snehasa Chatterjee has secured 37th rank, Sukriti Mandal has secured 78th rank, Anjali Sharma has secured 79th rank and Mohammad Sadiq Ansari has secured 85th rank.
Earlier in the session 2017-21, 7th and 2018- 5 students of 22 sessions have secured good ranks in this national examination and got admission in ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai and other national level institutes.
This is the only college in the State run under BAU, which has made its mark at the national level in just a few years. On the success of the students, Dean Veterinary, Dr Sushil Prasad, Co-Dean, Dr AK Singh, Assistant Professor, Dr Om Pravesh Kumar Ravi, Dr Shweta Kumari, Dr Prasant Jana, Dr Tasok Liya, Dr Gulshan, Dr Wisdom, Dr Virendra Singh, Dr Stanjin. Gava, Dr Manmohan, Dr Kasturi Chattopadhyay, Dr Rohitas Yadav and Dr Hafif Roshan have wished and congratulated the students for their bright future. Dr AK Singh described the success of 21 out of 28 students as a matter of pride for the State.
