Saturday, 30 September 2023 | PNS | Ranchi/ Jamshedpur

The risk of heart disease has increased even in young people. This includes people below 30 years of age. This disease has now become fatal. According to WHO, every year 17.5 million patients die due to heart and related diseases. In this, 80 percent can be saved if timely treatment is received.

At the same time, according to Harvard study, 13 percent of the population of Jharkhand is suffering from heart disease. To prevent heart disease, screening of non-communicable diseases (NCD) is being done in the state. Harvard study found that 30 percent of the urban population of Jharkhand is suffering from high blood pressure and 14 to 20 percent from diabetes.

Considering the seriousness of the situation, the Health Department is conducting screening of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in the state. According to the report, this year 14,81,466 people were screened (from April till now), in which 1,20,196 probable patients of sugar and 2,36,177 of BP were found.

Meanwhile, in Jamshedpur Brahmanand Narayana Multispeciality Hospital (BNMH) took a proactive step towards promoting a healthy lifestyle by organizing a mega walkathon on the occasion of World Heart Day. The event aimed to encourage residents to prioritize heart health and adopt habits that contribute to overall well-being.
