10 accused sentenced to RI in cases related to Vyapam

The Special Judge CBI (Vyapam Cases) at Bhopal and Gwalior have sentenced 10 different accused to various quantum of Rigorous Imprisonment (03 to 07 years) in three separate cases related to examinations conducted by Vyapam.

The Special Judge, CBI (Vyapam Cases), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) has sentenced Hardik Patel, Srawan Sonar, Dhananjay Kumar, Rakesh Kumar Patel & Mukesh Mourya, all to undergo seven years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs 10,000 each in a case related to fraud/impersonation in Pre Medical Test (PMT)-2013.   

CBI had registered the instant case on 12.01.2016 in compliance to the orders of Supreme Court of India and had taken over the investigation of FIR No. 07/2014 of Police Station STF, Bhopal against the accused including beneficiary candidate; Middlemen; impersonator/solver and father of said candidate on the allegations that a beneficiary candidate resident of Gujrat, cleared PMT-2013 examination & took admission in MBBS at Private a College in Bhopal by cheating, impersonation & forgery in conspiracy with the accused middlemen/solver against consideration of Rs 20.25 lakh (approx) which was given by the father of the candidate to middleman and others. The State Police filed a chargesheet and also 03 supplementary chargesheets.

After taking over the case, CBI conducted thorough investigation and filed supplementary chargesheet against the said accused. Subsequently, CBI had also filed another supplementary chargesheet on 31.08.2018 against Juvenile (beneficary candidate) before the Juvenile Justice Board, Bhopal.The Juvenile Board, Bhopal, vide judgement dated Oct 29, 2021, convicted the Juvenile with fine of Rs 15,000 and a probation period of 2 years.

The Trial Court found the said accused guilty and convicted them.

In second case, the Special Magistrate, CBI (Vyapam Cases), Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) has sentenced Arvind (beneficiary candidate) & Vipin (impersonator), both to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 4000/- each in a case related to Patwari Recruitment Examination -2012.

CBI had registered the instant case on Dec 12, 2015 in compliance to the orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and had taken over investigation of the FIR 134/12 dated March 26, 2012 earlier registered at Jhansi Road Police Station, Gwalior on complaint against impersonator/solver Vipin Kumar and beneficiary candidate Arvind Singh on the allegations of fraudulent selection of said candidate in the Patwari Recruitment Examination -2012. It was further alleged that while checking the Admit cards and ID proofs of the candidates during Patwari Recruitment Examination – 2012, one person Vipin Kumar was caught who was found appearing in the examination in place of actual candidate Sh. Arvind Singh. Voter ID & Admit Card of Arvind Singh were seized from the impersonator/solver Vipin Kumar. The State Police filed a chargesheet against the accused Arvind & Vipin.

During CBI investigation, it was found that Sh. Arvind Singh (candidate) had filled up the application form of Patwari Recruitment Test, 2012, as per the expert opinion of CFSL. After investigation, CBI filed supplementary chargesheet on July 31, 2018 against Arvind (beneficiary candidate) & Vipin (Impersonator). The Trial Court found the said accused guilty and convicted them.

In third case, the Special Judge, CBI (Vyapam Cases), Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) has sentenced Santosh Sharma (beneficiary candidate), Jitendra Kumar (impersonator/solver) & Ranveer Singh (middleman), all to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs 13,100 each in a case relating to Forest Gaurd Examination-2013.

CBI had registered the instant case on Dec 12, 2015 in compliance to the orders of Supreme Court of India and had taken over the investigation of FIR No. 78/13 earlier registered at Police Station Kampu, Gwalior on March 03, 2013 against Sarvan Kumar and Santosh Sharma on the allegations of impersonation in Forest Guard Examination, 2013 conducted by Vyapam, Bhopal on March 03, 2013.
