Balangir MLA Narasingha Mishra criticised the move of the district administration to stop water and electricity supply to Gadshankar Dunugripali village in the Lower Suktel area.
He urged the district administration to restore water and electricity supply to Gadshankar Dunguripali village forthwith. Incidentally, the villagers of Gadshankar Dunuripali have supported the Lower Suktel dam project and sought a six months’ time to leave the village.
Loisingha MLA Dr Mukesh Mahaling on Monday visited the Gadshankar Dungripali village, which is near the dam project and urged the district administration to treat the villagers sympathetically. The village comes under Loisingha Assembly constituency.
According to reports, the tin house made for the ousted people of Gadshankar Duguripali is of very short height and not fit to stay.
Mishra urged the administration to displace the people with dignity, failing which it may lead to further delay in completion of the project, by triggering agitation among the displaced.
